OverDrive Media Console
$0.00
OverDrive Media Console gives Android device owners a
great new way to access digital texts available through your school or public
library. This book reader app, currently the #1 bestselling app in that
category, offers eBooks and audiobooks for download without ever having to
travel to the library again.
Many libraries offer digital collections of eBooks;
this app taps into that inventory to provide the widest range of digital texts
stored by libraries all over the world. OverDrive Media Console is connected to
the digital eBook and audiobook database for more than 18,000 public, college
and school libraries from all over the world.
If you already have access to a library’s print
materials, you can access their eBook database directly through this app. Users
may need to obtain library cards to take out certain digital materials from
libraries, depending on the rules at those libraries. If the library also has a
waiting period to check out digital items, such as if a another library card
holder has already borrowed the eBook file, this app will put you next in line
on the waiting list.
This app does provide access to thousands and thousands
of books. It’s a little inconvenient that you have to a be a member of the
library in order to take out digital eBooks or audiobooks. It also seems odd
that digital files couldn’t be widely shared and would require a waiting list.
But while this app has to abide by these rules, it does give you access to a
much wider world beyond your own
library. Often times, if a library knows that it has customers accessing digital
texts, it will increase its inventory for a
wider selection. Pick up this free app through our link below and see if it
helps you stay on top of your reading.
